A decision was made on Wednesday by federal judge Lewis A. Kaplan, in order that determines the payment of that money and interest in the meantime won.

Carroll’s lawyers requested payment after the Supreme Court declined to receive an appeal from the 2023 conviction.

Trump had already handed over the money, which was put into a trust during the appeal process, waiting for a judicial decision.

Trump again defamed Carroll after his lawyers considered asking the Supreme to reconsider the decision.

The jury reached the verdict in a trial in which Trump did not appear, after Carroll witnessed sexual abuse that he was a victim in a clothing-proof booth at a luxury store in Manhattan.

Carroll, who is 82 years old, spoke for the first time about the attack in 2019 when Trump was president in a memoir.

He repeatedly denied knowing Carroll, with whom else he assured that he would never have met, accusing her of wanting to sell books at her expense and having political motives.

Trump, however, appealed against the sentence of paying compensation for defamation, amounting to $83 million, attributed to Carroll by another jury, after a trial, in January 2024, in which Trump made a short testimony.

In this trial, Kaplan requested the jury to accept the conclusions of the previous trial and to determine how much Trump should pay Carroll for the comments he made about her as President.

U.S. Supreme refuses Trump’s appeal and maintains victim compensation

The U.S. Supreme Court today refused to examine the US President’s appeal, maintaining the decision to pay five million dollars to writer E. Jean Carroll for sexual assault and defamation.
