Scottish singer and composer Lewis Capaldi was delighted to perform on the beach of Figueira da Foz and return to Portugal, after the concert cancelled four years ago for health reasons, a story he recalled today.

” AndI am very happy to be here,” Capaldi said, after the first three songs of the concert that took place on the beach of Clock, in the coastal city of Coimbra district.
Expressing himself in English – even if he risked a “hello” in Portuguese, learned minutes earlier in the backstage, before entering the stage by 21 hours, he recognized, apologizing – the 29-year-old musician revealed the joy of returning to Portugal, after such cancellation at the Southwest Festival when he was already on his way to the show in 2022, and felt bad.
In this interaction with the public, finally at the premiere in our country, the singer promised almost two dozen songs, “mostly depressing”, revealed, playing with what he had just said.
Later, he confirmed it, with a “very, very sad song” and before Before You Go (from 2019), sung in unison by thousands of people.
In 2023, Lewis Capaldi retired from the stage for two years to address the health issues that affected him and today made a point of remembering these “very black” times.
” I feel happy and better than ever, it is very special to be here, thank you very much for being here, I promise that I will return to Portugal “, reaffirmed, after all, the motto for, the piano and with its band, risking a powerful version of “The Day That I Die”, the song he wrote in 2025, about his own death, took over.
In the first rows – those where, in the festivals of the genre, there are usually the real fans – the female audience was in overwhelming majority: minutes before the concert began, before the cameras present, the young women were tuning their voices, singing and waiting for the ‘hit’ that everyone knows (or at least have heard) of the Scottish singer, ‘Someone You Loved’, scheduled for the end of the 75-minute show, in that which was the most emotional moment of the night, accompanied by the voice of the thousands of people present.
On this second day of the first edition of “Portugal Summer Sessions”, on the beach of Figueira da Foz – promoted by MOT – Memories of Tomorrow and by Live Nation and with a second edition already confirmed for 16 and 17 July 2027 – Pedro Santos, a singer based in the United Kingdom and Madeirans NAPA, masters of an energetic performance over 45 minutes and 10 themes.
