Lukashenko invites Mozambican President to visit Belarus

O Invitation was transmitted today to Chapo by the Foreign Minister of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, during a meeting with Daniel Chapo in Maputo, in which a letter was delivered with the message of the Belarusian Head of State.

” I am confident that the first official visit of the President of Mozambique to Belarus will give a strong impetus to the development of all aspects of relations between the two states,” he said.

According to Ryzhenkov, who visited Maputo in the last three days, the two parties held “very detailed and detailed” talks on the prospects of bilateral relations during this period.

According to the ruler, Lukashenko’s message sets out the main guidelines for deepening cooperation between the two countries.

” In this message, our President outlined the main guidelines that could serve as a basis for developing cooperation between our countries,” he said, adding that these priorities coincide with the objectives currently set by the Mozambican authorities for national development.

” We are very pleased that all these guidelines align with the vision that Mozambique’s leaders currently have for the development of their country,” he said.

Among the priority areas of Belarus is agricultural mechanisation and food security.

“First of all, these are issues related to agricultural mechanization and the country’s guarantee of food security,” he said.

Another area highlighted in the talks was security, namely the ‘fight against terrorism and security in the country’.

Ryzhenkov also pointed out the strengthening of industrial cooperation, which associated with the strengthening of Mozambican productive capacity.

” These are issues related to industrial cooperation and the strengthening of Mozambique’s industrial sovereignty,” he said.

The governor also identified opportunities linked to Mozambican logistics infrastructure and access to the region’s markets.

” These are issues related to Belarus’ use of Mozambique’s infrastructure and ports,” he said, adding that the objective is also to promote Belarusian products in other countries of the region through cooperation with Mozambique.

The exploitation and transformation of mineral resources was another of the areas pointed out, with Belarus’ interest in “collaborating with Mozambique” in this process.

According to the Minister, such cooperation could benefit from Belarusian experience in the production of complex fertilizers and the transfer of knowledge associated with gas processing.

The two parties also agreed to refer the discussion of cooperation matters to a forthcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

” We agreed with the President that all issues relating to bilateral cooperation should be examined at the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation,” he said.

Ryzhenkov also stated that there is understanding to conclude several agreements currently in preparation.

” We also agreed to finalise a whole series of agreements that are currently being drafted to be signed in the very near future,” he said.
