QIs breakfast perfect for those who want to lose weight? Is there an obvious answer? The question was asked to three nutritionists who agreed to the answer. See what you have to consume every morning if you want to lose weight.
Parade magazine talked to Dana Hunnes, Lauren Manaker, and Kathleen Benson to see what should be part of the first meal of the day to lose weight. Experts began by explaining the benefits of this meal.
Losing weight: The importance of breakfast
“ Usually we have three meals a day, which means we have three opportunities, in addition to others for those who prefer to have a snack or eat small portions throughout the day, to eat healthy or less healthy foods,” Dana Hunnes says.
Breakfast ends up playing an important role in your health and in achieving this kind of results. “It’s morning that our metabolism accelerates. We sleep all night, and our metabolism slows down to feed mainly the processes necessary for life, such as heartbeats, our breathing and all other basic vital functions.”

This first meal can be used in the best possible way. “What we eat can affect how our body feels throughout the day. If you have a very heavy breakfast, you may feel more lethargic than choosing a lighter meal, rich in healthy foods and antioxidants.”
The best breakfast to lose weight
The question was asked to the three nutritionists and all answered that the best breakfast is a combination of fibers, proteins and not only. So the ideal menu for the first meal of the day is Scrambled eggs with spinach and a full English muffin.
“Spinach is a low-calorie, nutrient-rich food. It is a source of fibers that promote satiety and help in digestion. They are both important factors for weight control” reveals Lauren Manaker.
On the other hand, eggs turn out to be quite important at this first meal of the day. “Eggs are a source of high efficiency and quality protein. They have few calories in relation to the volume of food consumed and are satiating due to the protein and fat content,” continues Dana Hunnes.
Carbs can be poorly seen, but they can actually be beneficial in this kind of meal. Unlike carbohydrates such as white bread, complex carbohydrates take longer to digest. These carbohydrates maintain energy, provide greater satiety, fewer cravings and fewer food excesses and contribute to intestinal health” says Kathleen Benson.
Thus, it is important that this be a balanced meal with nutritional variety. “It’s important to keep meals, especially breakfast, balanced. Focus on the overall nutritional value of your meal and try to ensure that the consumption of saturated fat does not exceed 10% of the total daily calories.”
