O U.S. Military Central Command (CENTCOM) has advanced on social networks that, by order of President Donald Trump, U.S. forces “initiated additional attacks on Iran with the aim of further reducing their capacity to threaten freedom of navigation in the Ormuz Strait”.
The wave of attacks, for the second consecutive night, arises in response to the “recent unwarranted attacks” perpetrated by Iran in the narrow dispute of Ormuz “against merchant ships and their civilian crews”, which “were sailing freely through this international waterway of strategic importance”, the same source is said.
Trump had today threatened to trigger more military actions against Iran, after claiming that Iranian attacks on civilian ships marked the end of the ceasefire.
