“ O system is already under pressure [...] and as there are few solutions to which the world can resort, the security network against supply interruptions is dangerously low,” said Aramco President Amin Nasser at the Energy Intelligence Forum in London.
The world’s largest oil producer has warned that less than 10% of the reserves are actually available, as part of it is needed to keep the infrastructure operational.
“That’s why [G7] is having trouble finding the 100 million barrels,” he said.
The G7 countries will release “up to 100 million barrels” of diesel and crude oil in the next four months to relieve pressure on energy markets, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday.
