European stock exchanges paying close attention to debt, oil and euro interest

The main European scholarships have opened today at a session centred on the interest on sovereign debt, on the price of oil, which is falling, and on the depreciation of the euro.

Aat 9:10 in Lisbon, the EuroStoxx 600 advanced 0.76% to 638.41 points.

 

The scholarships of London, Paris and Frankfurt rose 0.79%, 0.53% and 0.77%, while those of Madrid and Milan advanced 0.96% and 1.07%, respectively.

The Lisbon grant maintained the opening trend, with the main index, PSI, rising 1.09% to 9,455.96 points.

The euro was high against the dollar, but it remained below $1.13, minimum since May 2025, and it was worth 0.13% to $1.1238 in the Frankfurt exchange market.

Ten-year U.S. debt interest fell to 5.287%, while German debt interest also fell to 3.439 %.

As for oil, today, the price of the generic Brent barrel contract, which is a reference in Europe, is 0.31% to $100.01.

West Texas Intermediate barrel (WTI), a reference barrel in the United States of America, also yields, 0.87% to $88.65.

On the contrary, the price of the active natural gas contract on the Dutch TFF market, a reference in Europe, is increasing by 3.61% to EUR 76,095 per megawatt hour (MWh).

The futures of the U.S. indices show increases of 0.46% for Dow Jones and 0.18% for Nasdaq technology, after finishing on Monday 0.46% and 0.18%, respectively.

Wall Street closed on Monday with gains and the Nasdaq index set a new record, driven by the great technology involved in the development of artificial intelligence (IA).

In Asia, the Nikkei index of the Tokyo stock exchange closed to rise 1.05% due to gains in the AI sector, the South Korean Kospi fell 0.89%, and Hong Kong Hang Seng rose 0.81% as before the end of the session.

In turn, the Shanghai and Shenzhen scholarships remain closed due to the holiday period of China National Day.

On the macroeconomic agenda of the day, retail sales in the euro area, which are expected to have improved, and factory applications from Germany, and in the USA, the August trade balance, the Redbook retail sales index and the economic optimism of the IBD/TIPP financial index are highlighted in Europe.

On the other hand, gold rises 0.08% to 4,142.92 per ounce, while silver retreats 0.13% to 60.9917 dollars.

In the cryptocurrency market, bitcoin drops 0.74% to $85,149.
