O AVS won today in the Penafiel stronghold by 2-1, at the opening of the seventh journey of the II Portuguese football league, holding the series of four consecutive red-black wins in the championship.
The AVS got better into the game and surprised the locals just at three minutes by Roni, who diverted in the small area a cross of Rivas, from the left.
The Penafiel accused the disadvantage and, almost without time to react, suffered the second at nine, by the rookie Rafael Lobato. The shot from outside the area deviated in a penafidelense defense and betrayed the goalkeeper Miguel Oliveira.
Rodrigo Pinho still had an opportunity to expand the advantage, before Svensson and Davo were close to reducing, at 30 and 42 minutes, respectively.
José Manuel Aira moved the team to halftime and saw the bet rewarded at 60 minutes, when the inevitable Svensson reduced the disadvantage and revived the hope of the locals.
The AVS retreated into the field and managed to sustain the pressure of the Penafiel, holding the advantage until the end of the meeting.
With this triumph, the second of the outsiders in the championship, the AVS rose momentarily to the ninth place, with nine points, while the Penafiel, with 13, may lose the current second place at the end of the journey.
