The Week: “We knew it would be a brutal game, very difficult. While we do, in general, we can only be proud of what Torreense did today. Losing the ‘legs’ against a Premier League team and suffering the [lose] goal at 90+3 minutes, when we are in the II League, there is something that is exemplifying of the competence, quality and dedication of our players.”
Feeling of frustration: “We are frustrated with defeat, sad, but many proud of what has been done. We weren't playing any team. Sunderland was forced to go to the bank to pick up starting players to change the game. He put the whole ‘artillery’ to change the result. It’s more of an indicator of what our game was.”
♪ Look ahead ♪: “We have the players down, but they have to raise their heads. Regardless of the outcome, they made history once again. That's what they need to focus on. We need to keep looking forward, believe in our process and keep giving these teams work. Next week we have another game [with Ferencváros] and we will face it with maximum responsibility, the same one with which we faced this one.”
Differences in statutes: “A league II team score a goal for a Premier League and be winning 1-0 at halftime, even in our best dreams this was written. This is no accident, it's not random. It is a catalyst for us to continue doing the work we are doing.”
Global recognition: “A year ago no one knew Torreense and is now known in Europe and perhaps in the world”
