ANDm reported, Angola Airlines, reports that it took this measure “in order to reduce the possible impacts of paralyzing and preserve most of the planned programming possible”.

TAAG states that it received the communication from the Union of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (STMA) on the holding of strike periods between October 11 and 15, November 6 and 10, December 5 and 10 and December 19 and 23.

The company “will disclose as early as possible information on possible changes to flight programming”, reads in the statement.

It adds that “the affected passengers will be contacted directly through the data associated with their reservations and informed about the options available for managing their journeys”.

According to TAAG, the notice arises following the negotiation process between the Company and the STMA, in which it has not been possible, until now, to reach an understanding of the demands made by the union.

The company presented a 20% salary increase proposal, but the STMA maintains a claim that foresees a cumulative increase of 100% by December 2027. “We value our technicians and want to reach an agreement that recognises their contribution and is at the same time sustainable and balanced for the whole company,” explains TAAG.

Cited in the statement, TAAG President Clóvis Rosa indicates that, while the dialogue continues, the priority of the air carrier “is to protect passengers, ensure as much continuity as possible of the operation and maintain security as an ineligible principle”.

“ The safety of passengers, crews and aircraft remains an ineligible priority. The performance of any flight will always depend on full compliance with applicable technical, operational and safety requirements,” he says.

TAAG ensures that “it remains fully available to continue the dialogue with the STMA with a view to achieving a balanced and sustainable solution while preserving the interests of workers, passengers and the company”.
