Fante do Comando Metropolitano do Porto (COMETPOR) da PSP told Lusa that the operation in Porto took place in the neighborhoods of Pinheiro Torres and the Pasteleira and ended at 9pm on Wednesday, with the arrest of 16 people.
“In the context of the operation, a large amount of drugs and money were seized. In one of the search houses about 100,000 euros were seized”, said the same source, later referring to more concrete balance data on the operation.
On Thursday, a PSP officer had told Lusa that the searches, with over 40 arrest warrants, extended to areas outside Porto, control of the Republican National Guard (GNR), which also participated in the searches.
“ We are talking about over 40 arrest warrants,” he said, revealing that the operation is targeting an “organised group of traffickers”.
