Rafaela Pimenta, agent of Santiago Giménez, granted, on Wednesday night, an extensive interview to the Mexican version of the television station TNT Sports, in which, among other topics, spoke of the change from the tip of Mexican spear to FC Porto, which was processed in the final line of the market of transfers last summer.
The agent goes even further and left great criticisms to AC Milan, which is guided by Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim, recalling the difficulties of adaptation that the advanced had not only to AC Milan, but also to football in Italy.
Rafaela Pimenta also considered that, in her opinion, Santiago Giménez found the ideal context for this stage of his career, describing the transfer by loan to FC Porto as “one of the favorites of all time”.
“ For me, FC Porto is the ideal team for this player at this time in his career. He's enjoying this experience, which is the most important thing to play well. I think FC Porto and Santi are a perfect combination,” Rafaela Pimenta said.
The Brazilian entrepreneur also pointed to the instability of AC Milan as the reason for Santiago Giménez's lack of affirmation in the emblem based in San Siro.
“However, it bothers me a little that people forget the history of Santi and what happened. Santi arrived in Milan in the middle of the season. It's not easy adapting to a team in January, is it? It is very different from arriving at the beginning of the season, especially when moving to another country, with a different language, a different culture and a very different football style from the one used to ", detailed the entrepreneur.
“ Then he changed the coach, changed the whole direction, and this year everything changed again. Continuity becomes impossible, truly impossible, when a club, like Milan at the time, does not have a stable structure. And when the structure is not stable, it is difficult for a player to find his place, especially if he is a foreigner to reach a new environment.”.
Pepper explained that the unstable environment of the Italian club weighed in the modest income of the advanced in transalpine football. Santiago Giménez scored only seven goals in two seasons after transferring from Feyenoord to AC Milan in January 2025.
“ They know what the situation is like in Italy: those who arrive criticize what has been done before, while those who leave criticize the decisions taken by the previous direction. It's a little political. I believe Santi was involved in a situation that was much greater than his sporting performance. In my opinion, even considering the injuries, he was not given the right opportunities to show what he was able to do at his best,” he concluded.
