O Manchester United goes from bad to worse, and this Saturday it proved unable to go beyond a tie to a ball with Tottenham, in the middle of Old Trafford, thus making up a cycle of four consecutive encounters without a single win won, a circumstance that leaves Michael Carrick in a weaker position than ever before.

As happened with the predecessor, the Portuguese Ruben Amorim, also English coach Michael Carrick was the target of a monumental booing by the fans themselves, so referee Stuart Attwell sounded the final whistle for the one who was one of the most anticipated matches of the entire sixth Premier League journey.

At the press conference that followed, he did not hide the indignation he felt, fruit not only of this reaction, but also of the course of a game that the Red Devils came to 'hold in hand', on account of a goal of Bryan Mbeumo, at 73 minutes, but that he escaped, already in the compensation period, for 'blame' of Dominik Solanke.

“ When things don't go as well as planned, I sometimes realize the reaction. Obviously, it hurts. It hurts a lot. It’s not a nice thing to go through, but sometimes you have to go through it, that’s what it is”, he started by saying to journalists himself in statements reproduced by the British newspaper The Sun.

“ I worry as much as anyone in this club, so sometimes you can say too much, because it ends up overflowing, but it comes from a good place, actually, and so I understand. But, yes, of course it's not nice to have to go through that. I thought the players handled a lot, to be honest”, he said.

“ Even before the amendments, I think we could see that we were starting to look more like ourselves. We just had to make changes and try to refresh the team a little bit, something we benefited from and made a difference,” added the old 45-year-old English international.

“ I am not satisfied with the amount of points we have, of course”

With this result, Manchester United added six points, leaving it in the 12th position of the Premier League, with only three points of advantage, precisely over Tottenham, the team that lives immediately below the water line. A situation that has taken over Michael Carrick is far from ideal.

“ I am not satisfied with the amount of points we have so far, of course. There's no hiding me from that. I think it could have been different, for a couple of things, here or there, but reality is reality, and we have to accept it, as you know. We have to put things in a positive direction very quickly, that is clear”, reflected.

“ Of course we can do it, we are more than capable of doing it. We just have to be a little smarter, at certain times, and a little more stubborn and strong in certain things, but we've been in good positions sometimes. On the other hand, we did not do so well ", completed the helmsman of the red devils.
