A Call 1 returned in strength in France, with the Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca entering the scene with a complicated trip to the Lens terrain, this Friday, in a duel to count for the sixth day of the competition, losing by 2-1.
The team of the house began the match in a somewhat troubled position in the classification table, with only four points in the first five meetings, while Lyon followed with 11 in 15 possible, in the second position of the general, still without knowing the taste of defeat.
The game began with a very strong entry by Lens, who wanted to win again, after not knowing what it was since August 22, when he hit Auxerre, for 5-2, on the first journey.
And this start was fundamental to what the meeting would dictate, with the next opponent of Sporting in the single league phase of the Champions League to inaugurate the scorer through Florian Sotoca, at 36 minutes, after an impressive pass by Florian Thauvin that allowed the French advanced to pass through his opponent and shoot to count to the 1-0 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis (the stage that the lions of Rui Borges will visit as early next Tuesday.
The result that separated the two teams at the interval had a difference of only one goal, with the Lyon, by Paulo Fonseca, not to create strictly anything, as demonstrated the statistics of the first half, with a total of two goals, and none of them was framed with the goal defended by Robin Risser.
However, the lecture of the Portuguese technician must have been harsh, since the entry in the second part of the match was much more impetuous and with much demand for goal. Still, the truth is that it was Lyon's set that ended up suffering the second goal of the game when he was still looking for the first one of his own.
Florian Thauvin returned to be the assistant of service, with the goal author to be, this time, Matthieu Udol, who at the 77 minutes of the meeting ended up heading to the bottom of the nets without giving the guardian a chance, leaving Paulo Fonseca pensive and with headaches for the final minutes.
But Udol went from hero to villain in a matter of just seven minutes, entering without mercy upon an opponent, receiving expulsion order after seeing the red card, leaving Lens in inferiority to the decisive line of the game.
And Paulo Fonseca saw his team take advantage of this moment, as he reached the goal of honor a minute later, with a bump to meet Khalis Merah, who kicked into the bottom of the nets without asking for permission, in order to reduce the disadvantage.
However, it turned out to be too late, as the scorer did not move until the final whistle, with Lens leaving a series without wins before receiving Sporting, also rising to the condition, until the seventh rank, while Paulo Fonseca loses the opportunity to put pressure on AS Monaco at the top of the table.
