A 11th edition of Beira Interior – Vinhos & Sabores will take place in Pinhel, from 13 to 15 November, to promote wines, endogenous products and a territory that goes from Proença-a-Nova to Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo.

“Beira Interior – Vinhos & Sabores is a place for meeting and promoting wines, gastronomy and regional products, making known the richness and diversity of a whole region“, said Daniela Capelo, mayor of Pinhel.

The mayor spoke in the presentation of the event, held at the Solar dos Vinhos da Beira Interior, headquarters of the Regional Vitivinícola Commission (CVRBI), in Guarda, which is a partner of the municipality in the organization of the event.

According to Daniela Capelo, Beira Interior – Vinhos & Sabores has “a logic of territory and territorial promotion through the endogenous products of a region that covers 20 municipalities of the districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco”.

This Beira Interior goes from Proença-a-Nova [district of Castelo Branco] to Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo [Guarda] and has a variety of flavors in the wines, gastronomy, cheeses, sausages, honey, olive oils and sweeteners ", highlighted.

The mayor of Pinhel considered that “there is no lack of reasons” to visit Beira Interior – Vinhos & Sabores, which will take place in the Logistic Center of that city. “Our intention is to conquer people by mouth,” he said.

For Rodolfo Queirós, president of CVRBI, the focus of the event is “to have diversity, i.e. producers from various sources, different wine styles and other characteristic flavors of this region”.

“It is important that Pinhel continues to be the epicenter of wine production in Beira Interior, which is a heterogeneous region with a very large diversity. What we want is that those who visit us have the perception that the average quality of our products is excellent, so the goal is to always have around 50 exhibitors.”.

The programme includes a Wine and Taste Salon, commented wine tastings, “showcooking” sessions, a wine dinner, a restaurant area and live music.

Wine tastings will be boosted by Valeria Zeferino, director of the magazine Vinho – Grandes Choices (13 November, 20:00); Tiago Macena, the first Portuguese Master of Wine (15 November, 17:00), and members of the Portuguese Association of the Scans.

In the gastronomy featured the ‘showcookings’ of chefs Diogo Rocha (14 November, 16:30) and Oscar Frosts (15 November, 16:00), distinguished with Michelin stars.

The novelty of this year is a winey dinner, whose menu will combine the flavors of autumn and territory with the wines of Beira Interior, providing “a differentiated wine-growing experience”.

The event will be inaugurated at 6:30 p.m. on 13 November by Minister of Economics and Territorial Cohesion, Manuel Castro Almeida.
