ANDthis weekend brought us the fourth day of the women's national football championship. If Benfica and Sporting won the respective games, the same did not happen with FC Porto, which added the third game followed without winning in the competition.

Let's start with what happened at the Aurélio Pereira Stadium at the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy in Alcochete. In the four-day poster duel, Sporting received and won the Torreense 3-2, and temporarily rose to the leadership of the qualifying table.

The lionesses could not wish for a better start, as they inaugurated the marker just after the four minutes passed. Telma Incarnation took off from the right and crossed to Ágata Filipa, who, after a first shot blocked, did not waste the recharge to beat Ruth Costa.

Visitors tried to respond immediately and Janaina Weimer was close to the draw with a shot from a distance that passed very close to the beam. Equality would eventually arise at 24 minutes by this same Brazilian player. Alerted by the VAR, the arbitral Catarina Campos pointed out penalti in favor of the Torreense which was converted coldly by Weimer.

No more goals in the inaugural stage, which ended with the formation of Torres Vedras on top, the marker moved again only in the second part. Carla Armengol gained space at the entrance of the area and fired for a nice goal on top of minute 62. When visitors sought the draw, Telma Incarnation found space outside the area and shot hard at 3-1 at 74 minutes.

To the end, the best visitors have achieved is to reduce to the 3-2 final, in compensation period (91′), by Barbara Latorre.

Sporting thus rose to first place with ten points, with one more point than Benfica who has one less game. In turn, Torreense is in second position with nine.

Benfica Goleia Marítimo at the premiere of Ana Borges

Earlier this Sunday morning, Benfica had swung for 4-0 on the visit to the red maritime lantern, in the game that marked the official debut of Ana Borges from eagle to chest, after the ordeal of the injury. Also Andreia Norton returned to the competition about a year and a half after a serious injury and soon with a titularity.

At Campo da Immaculate Conceição, in Funchal, the incarnates entered the match better and inaugurated the marker at eight minutes through Caroline Moller. Rita Coutinho, from the house team, hit the beam and got very close to restoring equality.

Chandra Davidson still put the ball at the bottom of the Madeiran nets, but the bid was cancelled due to an irregular position of Nycole Raysla, who was out of play. The game in Funchal went to the break with only one goal on the scorer, which did not take long to win a new color.

The incarnates maintained the ascendant and reached the second with Caroline Moller's bis at 62 minutes. Seven minutes later, at 69′, Marit Lund also entered her name on the list of scorers. Closing the match, and already with Ana Borges in the field, Nycole Raysla put a stop to the result at 88 minutes.

FC Porto stumbled with the Ave River

On Saturday, Rio Ave and FC Porto tied to a goal, in one of the two games that opened this fourth round of the women's national football championship.

In Vila do Conde, the blue and white formation inaugurated the marker at the 54th minute, by Maria Ferreira, but consented to the draw four minutes later, at 58′, pointed by Mackenzie Anthony.

After the accounts, FC Porto, which added the third tie followed in the race, is in fifth place with six points. The Ave River reached the first point in the table and follows in eighth place.
