Carlos Alcaraz, third of the world ranking, confirmed favoritism over Lehecka, 19th, and won 7-6 (7-4) and 6-4 in an hour and 37 minutes, winning the title in Tokyo for the second year in a row.
In a season affected by a wrist injury, which prevented him from participating in Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Alcaraz was competing for the first final since the Masters 1000 of Monte Carlo in April.
“ It's very special to win a title again. It's been a while. Winning a trophy in my second tournament since my return is fantastic. I haven't found my best sneakers all week, but I've found the best solutions to win. Today, I played the best date in the entire tournament. I am very happy”, said the Spanish, who won the 27th career title.
Spanish had even had a good start in season, with the conquest of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the season, and the Doha tournament, where in February it had last erected a trophy.
Jiri Lehecka lost for the sixth time a final, the second in 2026, after defeat at the Miami Masters 1000, continuing with two titles on the palmares, both in Australia, in Adelaide (2024) and Brisbane (2025).
