O Manchester United expanded the series without winning in the Premier League and, during the afternoon of this Sunday, tied the Leeds (1-1) tour in a game that was valid for Premier League journey 7.
After the defeat in the middle of the week in the visit to the home of Atlético de Madrid, by two balls to zero, for the Champions League, Michael Carrick's commandos returned to internal races to try to put a stop to the five-date series without winning for all competitions.
Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot were held on Elland Road for another edition of ‘Derby the Roses’. The first eleven was the Argentine Lisandro Martínez, in focus this week for criticism of the Manchester United administration after the defeat in Madrid.
Visiting formation even began better and went to the time interval in advantage. The Belgian Youri Tielemans took the crossing to the heart of the area and Bryan Mbeumo anticipated the opposing marking to break the null on top of minute 35.
However, Manchester United would eventually falter at the start of the second part. Following a corner kick, the defense of the red devils fell to the papers and who eventually threw the ball to the bottom of Senne Lammens' nets was the English advanced Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who tied the match upon minute 51.
With equality again on the scoreboard, Manchester United went after the loss in search of the second (!) win of the season in the Premier League. At 65 minutes, team captain Bruno Fernandes attempted a shot at the edge of the large area, but the ball started scraping the left pole. Later, at 76 minutes, Amad Diallo had room to finish, but a court of Leeds' defense prevented the intentions of the Marfinense.
The result was no longer changed until the final whistle and Manchester United added the fifth game in a row without winning the Premier League. The red devils occupy the 13th position of the classification table with only seven points, two above the Nottingham Forest which is the first team in the demotion zone. Leeds, in turn, adds ten points and follows in seventh position.
And what happened at the other 3:00 games?
At Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth, with António Silva in the initial eleven, won at the reception to Sunderland, which in the middle of the week triumphed in the visit to Torreense for the Europa League. Marcus Tavernier opened the countdown at six minutes Evanilson's pass, before Danso left the saints down to ten units at 17 minutes.
The former FC Porto advance, which had already scored in the Europa League, fixed the final result with a straight shot opening the second part at 48 minutes.
At Amex Stadium, Brighton took the reception to Crystal Palace by Five-O. A goal by Jaydee Canvot opened at 4 minutes, before a goal of all the size of Diego Gomez (7′), that marked from the midfield. Before closing the first part, Ayari signed the third of the house team (10′).
The seagulls were closed in the second half thanks to Kostoulas (49 minutes) and Jack Hinshelwood, at 84 minutes.
