A Coastal and Border Control Unit of the Republican National Guard (GNR) seized yesterday morning a vessel and 18 portable containers (Jerricãs) in the Arrifana area of Aljezur.
In a press release sent to the editorials this Saturday, GNR states that, in the framework of a surveillance action, “a high-speed vessel (EAV) and a pneumatic motor vessel that transferred several volumes to each other were detected in the vicinity of the Arrifana Fishing Port”.
After this, “we were engaged in the land that allowed the seizure of a pneumatic vessel, an engine, 18 jarricans, containing about 350 litres of fuel, 11 bags of supplies and three pumps of manual filling for inflatable vessels”.
In this action the UCCF was reinforced by military personnel of the Faro Territorial Command.
It should be noted that, also at dawn yesterday, GNR seized about 3,400 liters of fuel and a rubber vessel, at Aveiros beach, in the municipality of Albufeira.
Four men of foreign nationality aged between 18 and 21 years were also identified.
