Five accused of feud that led to the death of a young man in NorthShopping

ANDm reported, through its official website, the Regional Attorney General's Office of Porto states that, in an accusation dated 20 July, the MP accused a total of five defendants, charging to three, in coauthorship, two crimes of offenses to qualified physical integrity (in apparent contest with a crime of participation in feud) and to the other two a crime of offenses to qualified physical integrity, also in apparent contest with a crime of participation in feud.

According to the MP, on June 28, 2024, the accused were involved, with two more minors, in a dispute in a commercial center in Matosinhos, in the district of Porto, with two other young people, one of the victims, 16 years old, died after being stabbed by one of the minors.

The MP explains that one of the defendants, “without anything justifying it, in a free and unappreciated way, struck a punch in the face of one of the offended” and that a friend of the offended “to defend” struck a punch in the face of the defendant.

Next, he argues the charge, “the five defendants together with the two minors, acting in conjunction with efforts and intents, taking advantage of such circumstance and its manifest numerical superiority, approached the first offended and struck a number not specifically determined of punches/punches on the face and head of the latter”.

Three of the defendants, defends the MP, “were punched in the second offended, with one of the defendants still throwing, with violence, a chair against this, hitting him in the leg zone”, and a fourth defendant also struck a punch in the face of this offended.

A moment later, he describes the text, one of the children of 16 years old, “with a knife/snake object, without anything justifying it, and in a free and unappreciated way, he kissed the first offender, who was in manifest difficulty to defend himself from the aggressions he was being targeted, and struck two blows, one of which in the heart zone, causing him injuries that caused his death”.

On the charge, the MP also states that two of the defendants and one of the minors then suffered “a number not specifically determined of kicks – but certainly more than four – in the area of the head, face and, of the back of the mortal victim, causing him numerous abrasions on the head, upper and lower limbs and scattered throughout the body”.

In February 2025, the Court of Porto condemned the two minors involved in that aggression: the person who killed one of the victims was sentenced to hospitalization in an educational center in the form of a closed regime for three years and the other two years of hospitalization, in the form of a semi-open regime, in an educational center.

The first minor was convicted of three crimes of offense to qualified physical integrity, a crime of injury and a crime of murder and the second of three crimes of offense to qualified physical integrity and an aggravated crime of injury.
