The circulation in Lines 1 and 3 of the South Tagus Metro was normalized at 10:45 after a collision between two compositions at Avenida Bento Gonçalves in Almada, which caused two minor injuries and led to the opening of an inquiry.

A circulation on lines 1 and 3 of the Metro Sul do Tejo was normalized at 10:45 after having been conditioned following a collision of two compositions at Avenida Bento Gonçalves, Almada, informed the managing company.

 

The collision between the two compositions of the Metro Sul do Tejo occurred about 07:20 and caused two minor injuries that were transported to the Hospital de São José, in Lisbon, according to Civil Protection.

However, source of the company indicated that an investigation will be opened to determine the cause of the accident.

According to information available on the website of Metro Transportes do Sul, because of the accident, the circulation was conditioned in Line 1, which connects Cacilhas to Corroios, and in Line 3 between Cacilhas and the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University.

Due to the accident, the movement was being made (around and round) between Cacilhas and the Cova da Piedade and between Praguel and the University, according to the company.

Metro Transport of the South indicated that Line 2, which links Corroios to Prague, was operating normally.

Source of the Sub-Regional Command of the Setúbal Peninsula (district to which the municipality of Almada belongs) told Lusa that, due to the accident, nine operations were on site, with the support of four vehicles.
