Ckristiano Ronaldo put, at the end of the afternoon of Wednesday, in 'stand by' the controversy caused by the sudden abandonment of the main selection of Portugal, the result of a disagreement with Jorge Jesus, to pay tribute to Lionel Messi, who, on the eve, held the last game in service of Argentina.
“Leo, so many years defending your country and a story that will remain forever. All my respect for what you achieved with Argentina. A hug”, wrote the Madeiran, in the comment box of a text published by La Pulga about the way it was honored, on the eve.
In that text, the advance Inter Miami had written: “Yesterday, it was my last game, and I already miss wearing the heavenly and white. I know I'm making the right decision. It was an incredible journey, full of joys and also of some sorrows, but it was worth every step I took.
“ And there's a lot left to say. It is impossible for me to express everything I feel in a word or a publication. This trip would have been impossible without my family, who has always been there for me and supported me, above all, in difficult times, when I needed it most”, one can read.
“ My friends, all the teammates and coaches I had, along with their technical teams, were also indispensable. I don’t want to forget Diego [Armando Maradona], who put our country where it deserved to be and, as I always say, I know that he helped us, being here, with us, and also from heaven, every step we took”, he continued.
