A 28-year-old man was arrested for the third time on suspicion of assaulting his parents in Albergaria-a-Velha, in the district of Aveiro, and will await the course of the process in pre-trial detention, according to the GNR.

Um 28-year-old man arrested for the third time on suspicion of assaulting his parents in Albergaria-a-Velha, in the district of Aveiro, will wait for the process to be carried out in preventive detention, GNR informed today.

 

In a statement, GNR clarified that the suspect was present on Saturday the first judicial interrogation, where he was applied the most severe coercion measure, and was subsequently transported to the Prison Institution of Aveiro.

According to the Guard, the man was arrested on Friday for the alleged practice of two aggravated domestic violence crimes against his 63-year-old father and his 59-year-old mother.

“ The defendant exercised physical and psychological violence, repeatedly, against both his parents, leading them to be in a situation of particular vulnerability ", says the same note.

According to the Guard, the investigation lasted about a year and, in the course of the proceedings, the defendant had already been arrested twice, through arrest warrants, for first judicial questioning and for non-compliance with the coercion measures initially applied to him.
