Pontos, you need the Champions League. After a false return to the world's biggest club race, with two consecutive defeats, FC Porto receives the PSV already tomorrow, Tuesday, and only the victory interests the leaders of Francesco Farioli. The blues and whites try to transport once and for all the good internal moment to European competitions, and on the other hand there will be an opponent who they have not faced for more than 30 years.
Besides Samu, closer and closer to being 100% and able to be a holder, Farioli also has another gold asset stored in the bank: Santiago Giménez.
The Mexican advance even had in mind the possibility of stalling the match before Real Betis, already in the final moments of the game last Wednesday, but saw Álvaro Valles deny him the goal with a great defense.
However, when it comes to scoring goals for the PSV, Giménez is usually much more effective, having a past filled with goals in the Netherlands, where he wore Feyenoord's sweater for two and a half seasons.
In total, the Mexican international faced the PSV on eight occasions, having only won once in January 2024. However, this was not due to a possible lack of Giménez goals. On the contrary, despite not having scored in the only triumph of Feyenoord, Giménez tasted on foot in three of the eight meetings, having been in one of them.
Now, almost two years later, the paths of Giménez and PSV cross again at Dragon Stadium. The player borrowed from AC Milan is still in search of the top form, after the various physical problems he faced last season, but it has already proved useful to FC Porto, marking one of the goals that helped the dragons win in the visit to Casa Pia.

Farioli with immaculate record
If Giménez knows what it's like to mark the PSV, Farioli knows how to defeat Eindhoven's formation, relying on an immaculate record. In 2024/25, the Italian coach was at the helm of the Ajax and won both games in front of the rival, relating to the championship, despite losing the Dutch title match.
Reflect of good memory in the Dragon
UEFA appointed referee Daniel Siebert on Sunday to direct the match between FC Porto and PSV, leading a 100% German arbitration team.
The 42-year-old judge only for once arbitrated a game of the Invicta team in 2020/21, with the blues and whites winning the Olympiacos (2–0) at Dragon Stadium.
The agenda of Monday
This Monday will be particularly agitated in Porto, with the training of the team commanded by Farioli to be scheduled for 10:30 am at the Jorge Costa Sports Training and Training Center, in Olival. About two hours later, the Italian coach will attend a press conference (12:45), accompanied by a player still to be appointed, to make the preview to meet.
In turn, the PSV will only train in the afternoon, and already at the Dragon Stadium, starting at 6 p.m., and before that there will be the press conference of coach Peter Bosz (17:15).
