O coach Tiago Margarido admitted today that Vitória de Guimarães has to be “very inspired” and show “offensive and defensive variation” to break the invincibility of FC Porto in the I Portuguese Football League, on the 11th day.

After the score imposed on the Maritime (5-0) and the tie without goals on the Gil Vicente field, the technician, 37 years old, said he faced as “a challenge” the hypothesis of taking points to the set ‘blue and white’, which adds 30 points in 30 possible for the championship, in the fight scheduled for Sunday, at 18:00, in Guimarães.

“ We go to the game with the goal, with the challenge and the illusion of being the first team to score points to FC Porto. Let's go in exclusively with the thought of winning. To do this, we have to be on a very inspired day and FC Porto also on a not so good day,” he said at the press conference forecasting the challenge.

Waiting for “the strength” of the Victorian supporters to be “an advantage” at Stadium D. Afonso Henriques, Margarido also asked “defensive and offensive variation” to fight an opponent with a way to play “easyly identifiable but very difficult to counter”, and who held “a great exhibition” on Wednesday, before the Italians of Naples (4-1), for the Champions League.

The ‘timneiro’ admitted that the minhotos prepared “some ways to defend different” to create obstacles to the offensive maneuver of the team trained by Francesco Farioli and also worked the attack to try to “use as FC Porto presses”.

After removing “positive things” from the Monday game in Barcelos, in which Vitória maintained defensive consistency, but was not “so accommodating” to attack by “Merit of Gil Vicente”, Tiago Margarido also refused that the degree of difficulty may change with the possible changes in the ‘eleven’ portista, for management reasons, in the face of the quality of the ‘blue and white’ squad.

“ I believe there may be some management on the part of FC Porto due to the game of ‘Champions’, but this management does not lower the entire level of the team, because players who did not play this game against Naples have a level equal to those who played. Therefore, changing three, four ‘parts’ in a squad of those does not make much difference,” he observed.

The Vitória de Guimarães, 13th ranking of the I Liga, with nine points, receives FC Porto, leader, with 30, in match scheduled for Sunday, at 18:00, at Stadium D. Afonso Henriques, in Guimarães, with arbitration of David Silva, of the Porto association.
