A Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) will have already begun to start contacts, in the “bastitors”, to organize a farewell game of Cristiano Ronaldo to the main national selection, according to early information, early this Sunday afternoon, by the French newspaper L’Equipe.

Although he is trying to find a way to reconcile Al Nassr's advance with Jorge Jesus, the leadership led by Pedro Proença knows that this will never be an easy task, so he will be negotiating a meeting at the same time in which he can say goodbye to the team of quinas in a manner consistent with the status he has built over the last few years.

The 41-year-old player, remember, made the decision to abandon the concentration of Portugal last Wednesday, moments after the end of the press conference in which the national selector made the launch of the game of the third day of the League of Nations group phase, in which he would eventually get the best of Denmark by 2-4.

The Madeiran boarded his private jet to the Spanish capital of Madrid, and everything indicates that this Sunday he will be on his way to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to reintegrate the training of Al Nassr (club with which he has a valid contract until June 2027), under the orders of Australian coach Ange Postecoglou.

This is precisely the same day that Portugal can stamp the passport to the final rooms of the League of Nations, in case of victory over Norway, at the Dragon Stadium, in a duel that has initial whistle scheduled for 7:45 p.m. (Hour of Continental Portugal), and for which it is right low.

Jorge Jesus promises explanations..

On the eve, at the launch of Portugal-Norway, Jorge Jesus refused to extend, for the time being, in explanations regarding this dossier: “The focus must be national selection, Norway, what we want to do well, that our people be in tune with the flag and the goal. Now, that doesn't mean ignoring Cris. It is a symbol of selection, that it is clear, after the game, there is a long time to talk about it”.

“ The hardest thing in a coach's career is always to solve and try that when he doesn't win, find ways that victory is always close, game after game. As much as I can say that the victory in Denmark filled me with pride, so what the players did, I can also say that when it was over, I was super happy, but I could be happier”, he added.

...and Cristiano Ronaldo too

Cristiano Ronaldo, for his part, also committed himself to explaining exactly what led to this outcome, soon, in a publication on social networks: “After the national selector’s press conference, and following a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the internship of the national team.”.

“ In time, I will tell all the Portuguese the truth about the reasons why I left the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself. Now is the time to wish good luck to Portugal and all my teammates, without exception ", completed the footballer graduated in Sporting.
