Inês Sousa Real published a message on social networks where he explains that he missed “for the first time” a debate with the Prime Minister last Friday, since his cat Mikas suffered a probable “AVC”. The only member of the PAN points out that “who shares, or has already shared, life with a pet knows that they are family”.

Ion Friday, Sousa Real missed the debate with Prime Minister Luís Montenegro in the Assembly of the Republic and, through social networks, published a message explaining why this happened: his mikas cat will have suffered “a stroke”. “Who shares, or has already shared, life with a companion animal knows that they are family,” he said.
In the message, Sousa Real began by thanking the “messages of affection and support to cheer for Mikas”, stressing: “They say cats have seven lives, but Mikas has already challenged all the odds and looks like he’s already in the alternates!”
In the post – released last Saturday, October 10 -, the MP said that “it is very difficult to see the state of health of our best friends to degrade and go through an episode such as Friday. The doctor believes the most likely is that it was a stroke“.
“Fortunately,” said Sousa Real, “the Mikas is recovering and, to evaluate by his little genius, it seems that it was mainly the motor part that was affected. Because he's conscious, eats and complains! Today [saturday] has come to sleep at home, which makes my heart less tight”.
She also left a thank you “in particular” to the hospital where Mikas is accompanied and “dr. Ana, for the readiness with which they received him in this emergency”. “In moments as sensitive as this, this answer makes all the difference.”
There will be more debates and more parliamentary work. But nothing and nobody could replace me at a time as difficult as the one Mikas lived on Friday
“Politics requires responsibility, but also humanity”
After explaining Mikas’ state of health, Inês Sousa Real made it a point to point out that such a situation caused “for the first time” to miss a debate with the Prime Minister: “Whoever follows my work knows that I have never missed a debate with the Prime Minister and knows the sense of responsibility and commitment with which I exercise daily the mandate entrusted to me on behalf of the PAN.”
“ Unfortunately, on Friday, I was forced to miss for the first time. Not for disregard, not for lack of commitment, but because those who share, or have already shared, life with a companion animal know that they are family”, lawyered on the same note.
And he continued: “They are always there for us, without asking for anything in return, especially in the most difficult moments. Mikas has been with me since the two months of his life, and over the past 17 years, there hasn't been a time of adversity when he wasn't the first to realize that something wasn't right and to be literally present next to me.”
As a result, the single member of the NAP stressed that “policy requires responsibility, but also humanity”. “And I believe that, if we do not know where we need to be in the most difficult times, we are defrauding precisely the trust they place in us.”
It also considered that “There will be more debates and more parliamentary work. But nothing and nobody could replace me at such a difficult time as the one Mikas lived on Friday.”.
“And that’s why i have been, and I will always be, where no one could replace me and where my heart was: with Mikas“, finished Inês Sousa Real.
