Government of Madeira supported more than 3,100 residents in Câmara de Lobos

ANDm reported, the IASAÚDE states that the municipality of Câmara de Lobos, which today marks the 191st anniversary, is the second of the autonomous region with the highest number of beneficiaries of health support programs, after Funchal.

“ The data collected over the last seven years confirm a continuous intervention, which results in more than 3,100 supported users”, he stresses, highlighting programs such as Kit Baby, +Vision Children and Youth, +Senior Vision and +Smile.

Implemented in the municipality in 2019, Kit Baby, which guarantees a support of 600 euros for the purchase of health and well-being products in all pharmacies in the region, has already covered more than 1,600 newborns.

On the other hand, the ‘+Vision Children and Youth’ program, active since 2022, has reached more than 660 users aged between zero and 14 years.

The Senior +Vision, in force since 2019, supported more than 618 residents, with a contribution of 150 euros in the purchase of glasses graduated from the adherent perspective.

According to IASAÚDE, oral health also records “consistent results”, and the +Smile programme, aimed at children and young people aged 10 to 16 years, has counted more than 270 beneficiaries since 2023.

“ With more than three thousand beneficiaries, Câmara de Lobos stands out as one of the municipalities where the programs of IASAÚDE have greater expression ", says in the statement.

The municipality of Câmara de Lobos, adjacent to Funchal to the west, has 32,808 residents (official data referring to 2025), distributed by five parishes – Câmara de Lobos, Quinta Grande, Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, Jardim da Serra and Curral das Freiras.

The municipality is always led by the PSD with an absolute majority.
