In a statement sent to the editorials, the Ministry of Finance explains that “after the approval in parliament of the new reduction of the IRS, with effect from 1 January 2026, the Government decided reduce by 50% the withholdings at the source applicable to labour income and pensions paid during the month of November, including the Christmas allowance due that month“.

The adjustment of November tables takes place so that “Families immediately benefit from this descent, not having to wait for the IRS to get it right next year”, justifies the Government.

The reduction in retentions at the source will be applied only in November, as in December, the tables currently in force will resume. The order formalising the decision has already been issued and should be published soon.
