A president of the IL accused the Prime Minister today of having given a “pitiful press conference” and considered that the invitation made to the presentation of measures by the PS and Enough means aggravating housing problems.
These positions of Mariana Leitão were transmitted in their account on social network X, shortly after Luís Montenegro made a communication to the country, from São Bento, on the issue of housing in Portugal.
“ Pathetic press conference! Two weeks ago I invited all parties to a meeting to try to find a common ground in three areas: public housing, simplification and tax reduction”, wrote the leader of IL.
Mariana Leitão, in a reference to the demonstrations, later said that “the Portuguese are sick of political war and of discussing tents where no one can live”.
“ They want to discuss houses where people can live. Louis Montenegro's PSD refused. Today, the Prime Minister summons the country to 20:00 to say that it will meet only with the Enough and the PS to see what measures these parties have to propose ", pointed out.
This option, according to Mariana Leitão, means “to continue to aggravate the housing problem in Portugal with proven failed policies”.
“The Prime Minister lost two weeks and now, with the challenge on the street, he comes to invent another meeting only with the parties that block the parliamentary system and have proven that they do not solve anything. When this PSD was opposed, it approved IL's proposals. While government rejected the same IL proposals that could already be giving visible results”, he argued.
For the president of the IL, the Government, “in these two and a half years has failed out loud to start solving the problem.”.
“Ineptness, immobility, guilt, victimization, lethargy. We need action, we need to see houses emerging in the market, not permanent political tactics in which everything stays the same”, he added.
