A journalist was shot to death in Mexico, raising to nine the number of journalists killed in the country this year, according to the organization Artículo 19.

Ua journalist was shot dead on Friday in Mexico, announced the defense organization of the journalists Artículo 19, raising to nine the number of reporters killed in the country since the beginning of the year.
Hamurabi Huesca Manzano ran an information portal with over 52,000 followers and also worked as a taxi driver.
According to Oaxaca's prosecutor, armed men opened fire on Huesca Manzano and two other men.
One of the victims, known as “El Darío”, was identified by the authorities “as one of the main drivers of violence” in the area of Santiago Pinoteca Nacional.
Apparently, Huesca Manzano “waited for the client [‘El Darío’] to provide him with a transport service”, when he was hit, along with the other two men, the prosecutor, quoted by the local press, informed.
The non-governmental organization (NGO) Reporters Without Borders (RSF) updated the list of journalists killed in Mexico with the murder of Huesca Manzano.
The NGO considers that Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries to pursue the profession, according to the French agency AFP.
The journalist’s ‘site’, Pinotepa Comunica, published articles on politics and local affairs of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, the city where he lived.
“ We demand that the prosecutor consider as a priority in the investigation the fact that he works as a journalist”, claimed Article 19 on social networks.
