Karoline Leavitt, who left the position of White House press secretary in August, will join Fox News, Donald Trump's favorite television network, as commentator.
The former White House press secretary debuts as a commentator on November 1.
His predecessors of Trump's first government, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany, also joined Fox after leaving office, so Leavitt was seen as a logical choice for the channel.
In the announcement, Fox News executive director Suzanne Scott praised Karoline Leavitt’s “authentic and insightful vision” and said that his “first-hand experience in the White House and presidential campaign gives him a unique understanding of the current political scenario.”.
Leavitt said he was “thankful for the opportunity,” adding that he hopes to take his “single perspective”, acquired throughout his experience as White House press secretary, “together with the same energy and frankness” that defined his mandate, “for the millions of Fox viewers on their various platforms”.
Leavitt, 29, was the youngest press secretary in the history of the White House when she was only 27. He left the government in August shortly after the birth of his second son. At the time, he said he planned to spend more time with his family and take a position at Super PAC Maga Inc., aligned with Trump.
In a long publication he published on social network X, Leavitt stated that “to perform the functions of spokesman of the White House over the past year and a half was an honor and a unique adventure in life” and thanked Donald Trump for his “opportunity”.
She also explained that “being a mother and welcoming a new baby” while occupying “one of the most demanding functions in the world” is “gratifying”, but also “defiant”.
Trump had already reported that Karoline Leavitt would become one of his “main external advisers” and an “influential voice” in the Republican Party.
“Karoline has been a true leader in the White House and has done phenomenal work in the fight for Justice, Freedom and Independence since 2018, including our historic 2024 re-election campaign. Karoline has been one of the best press secretaries in the history of the office. Thank you, Karoline, for the excellent work!”, concluded.
In addition to little Vivi, born May this year, Leavitt is also the mother of two-year-old Niko.
