Lisboa was elected today “Best Cruise Destination” of Europe, at the World Cruise Awards, held in Jamaica, conquering for the third time the distinction, after the victories in 2021 and 2024, announced the Porto de Lisboa Administration (APL).
The Portuguese capital surpassed destinations such as Funchal, Athens (Greece), Barcelona (Spain), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Monte Carlo (Monaco), Nice (France), Rome (Italy), Oslo (Norway) and Southampton (England), among those nominated for the category.
In a statement, the APL considers that the award recognizes the work carried out by professionals and entities related to cruise tourism, as well as the hospitality of Lisboners.
“ This award is the result of the commitment and commitment of all those who work in the ecosystem of cruises in Lisbon, who daily dedicate themselves to providing unique and memorable experiences to those who visit us, as well as the hospitality of Lisbon. Lisbon is increasingly said to be a destination of excellence, competitive, innovative and sustainable”, reads in the note.
The World Cruise Awards were created in 2021 and aim to distinguish excellence and innovation in the international cruise industry.
This distinction arises in the same year that the Lisbon Cruise Terminal was named for the sixth consecutive year for Best Cruise Terminal in Europe.
