Maniche appealed, at the end of the morning of this Sunday, to social networks to deny statements that, over the last days, were attributed to him, regarding the environment that lives in the main selection of Portugal, following the abandonment of Cristiano Ronaldo, due to a disagreement with Jorge Jesus.
“ That's not my line. I never said it. Stop. Someone decided to invent it, put my face on it and spread it like it was true. You're not the first and you won't be the last. This is neither opinion nor journalism. It is to manufacture lies to generate clicks, hate and division at the cost of selection, at a time when it needs everything but this”, he wrote.
“ My opinions are live, face up and with my name. Whoever wants to know what I think, listen to me, not fake accounts. To whom you shared in good faith: before pressing “share”, confirm the source. A lie only circulates because someone passes it ahead”, added the former international Portuguese.
In question, there is a supposed intervention, in which he would have said that “many players of the selection are uncomfortable and unhappy because whenever they arrive to the selection the subject is ‘Ronaldo’, even after a victory”, in contrast to Argentina, who lives “a smooth transition from the [Lionel] Messi era”.
“ We are stuck with a player who does not want any other to be a star besides himself”, would have completed the now sports commentator, 48 years old.
José Mourinho and Ricardo Lent suffered the same evil as Maniche
Maniche's position arises a few days after Real Madrid's coach, José Mourinho, and also the former Portuguese international Ricardo Lent have felt the need to come to the public to deny other words that have been attributed to them precisely on the same subject.
“Friends, in the last few hours, some pages have decided to publish statements that are attributed to me about national selection and about Cristiano Ronaldo. I want to make it clear that these statements are false and not made by me. At the moment, I do not intend to comment on this situation”, threw the ‘Mustang’.
“ I only wish our selection and, of course, Christian the best. Everything you have to say will always be said by me and through my official channels. A hug to all ", concluded, in a message in everything similar to that which spread the compatriot José Mourinho, also on social networks.
“‘Fake news’... Too many news about my comments to the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, FPF [Portuguese Football Federation] and national selector. ‘Fake news’. No comments”, lamented.
Cristiano Ronaldo has already promised explanations
Cristiano Ronaldo, for his part, has already committed to explaining exactly what led to this outcome, soon, in a publication on social networks: “After the national selector’s press conference, and following a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the internship of the national team.”.
“ In time, I will tell all the Portuguese the truth about the reasons why I left the national team, to which I have always dedicated myself. Now is the time to wish good luck to Portugal and all my teammates, without exception ", completed the footballer graduated in Sporting.
