A football team was the great winner of the gala of the attribution of the Golden Dragons of 2026, which took place, for the night of Wednesday, at the Super Bock Arena, in the Invicta City, soon after being elected the best of all the 'universe' of the FC Porto, a prize that was delivered by the hands of Estela Costa, widow of Jorge Costa, to the men of Francesco Farioli.

Diogo Costa spoke on behalf of the national champions in title, having made a point of “thanking the president”, André Villas-Boas, but also the teammates: “We all did a job to put FC Porto back where it belongs. I thank all the fans, that all the games gave us great energy to make our work easier, so that we could feel supported”.

“ For me, it only makes sense to give this to one person, our dear, eternal Jorge Costa. It only makes sense to give it to the Star, representing his family. Viva o FC Porto”, said the Portuguese international, which, moments before, had already been called to the stage, of this case, to be awarded the award of Athlete of the Year.

“ It's always easier to talk to my team. I thank the president and our board. It's a special affection we have. I want to thank my team and technical staff. I leave a special thanks to our staff, which gives us the best to fight every day”, he said, visibly thrilled.

“I want to thank my children and my girlfriend for ten years. It's the person who gives me emotional stability to do the dirty work focused. For football, it was also the football reward, more specifically, for Victor Froholdt: “It means a lot to me to win this trophy. We have a fantastic team. If I go back a year, I see a shy man with many dreams and hopes. I felt that this championship was special, a family”.

Francesco Farioli, for his part, was elected coach of the year: “The trophy represents you all. I wouldn't be here if the board, especially the president, hadn't bet on me.
