44-year-old woman

Uthe woman who fell off a cruise on Friday by the Greek island of Zante was rescued alive a day later.

The 44-year-old passenger, born in El Salvador, was following the “Odyssey of the Seas”, a cruise ship from the Royal Caribbean, early on Friday, when she fell to sea when they followed from Mykonos, Greece, to Naples, Italy.

As soon as the incident alert was issued, a search-and-rescue operation was initiated, with the participation of several authorities and private vessels, as well as a helicopter.

Authorities would find a small flashing lighthouse, of those used in rescue buoys, but the light was on the loose. This discovery, however, would lead to the next morning’s encounter with the woman.

Twenty-four hours after the accident, a cargo ship that participated in the searches located the woman alive and consciously attached to a buoy.

The woman was transported to the port of Katakolo and was later transferred to the hospital for medical examination

The authorities did not reveal details of the circumstances in which the fall took place, nor how the woman had managed to get the buoy she was clinging to at the time of the rescue. However, the Daily Mail says that it jumped into the sea because it wanted to land around 6:00 a.m.
