The government expects the unemployment rate to fall to 5.8% in 2026 and 5.7% in 2027, according to the proposed State Budget for 2027 delivered to the Assembly of the Republic.

Nthe report accompanying the budget proposal, the executive signals that “the figures projected for the unemployment rate in 2026 and 2027 are approximately in line with the average of the other institutions, reflecting a context of dynamism and full employment”.
The government today delivered to the Assembly of the Republic the proposal for a State Budget for 2027 (OE2027), before the deadline laid down by law.
The budget proposal foresees an economic growth of 2.3% this year and 2.1% in 2027 and balanced accounts this year and a surplus of 0.1% in 2027.
The proposal will be discussed and voted on in general between 27 and 28 October. The overall final vote is scheduled for November 24, after the discussion process in the specialty.
