Hello, fall? Temperature will drop (and in Serra da Estrela already feels)

Dafter an autumn that began with hot weather, temperatures will begin to drop as of tomorrow, Monday, although this descent can already be felt in the north and center of the country. 

The forecasts of Meteored Portugal point out that for Monday, October 19, a “descent of temperatures” is expected, although it can be “more evident in the north and center of Portugal and especially in the last hours of dawn and early morning hours”.

According to the map of Meteored, by 8 a.m. tomorrow, the country “practically all” should record “temperatures below the doctor, except for the district capitals Beja and Faro, whose anomaly will be null, indicating normal values for the time of year”. 

“ Although between Tuesday, 20, and Thursday, 22, some positive anomalies may arise, or values between 1oC and 3oC above the average, the latest update of ECMWF – European Centre for Medium-Term Meteorological Forecasts – indicates that, in most of this period, Continental Portugal will present values below the average, and there may still be some points of the Center and South that have normal values for the time ", says. 

Meteored Portugal also notes that Thursday morning, October 22, may be “one of the coldest of the week in most of the continental territory”. 

Still, “it is expected that on Friday, the positive anomalies may return, especially to the north and center of the country”. 

Remembering that also the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), in its usual weekly forecast, indicated that the beginning of next week “still presents some uncertainty due to the influence of a depression region at altitude, whose location is not yet possible to predict with rigor”.

The state of time “should be conditioned by a flow from the west with the passage of frontal systems through the North and Center regions on Wednesday and at the end of the week, resulting in the occurrence of rainy periods in these regions”.

As for temperatures, get ready: next week you can order a coat. It is because, according to forecasts, thermometers are expected to have lower values than they have been this week.
