“ Pauleta, which was part of the lot of 26 called for the two games of play-off clearance for the World Championship, did not follow journey to the Algarve, where the national selection The female performs internship”, reads in a federal statement.

The average Benfica, 29 years old, was evaluated this morning by the FPF medical department and was given as “inept for injury”.

Thus, the team traveled with 25 players to Lagos, where they will intern until Wednesday, when they head for Northern Ireland.

Play-off's first hand is scheduled for Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Inver Park in Larne.

Then the team will return to the Algarve, where they will play, on October 13, the second hand of play-off, at the Portimão Municipal Stadium.

If you overcome Northern Ireland, Portugal faces Iceland or Croatia in the decisive duel to ensure the qualification for the next World Championship.
