A interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, said today that his government is negotiating 44 more oil deals without advance with whom or for how long.
But Delcy Rodríguez assured that, if those agreements are implemented, the country will total 105 arrangements in less than a year.
“ In addition to the 61 agreements that PDVSA has already signed, 44 are being negotiated in a total of 105 agreements (...) in less than a year”, he said during his speech at the annual meeting of Venezuelan employer Fedecamaras.
The interim president of Venezuela pointed out that there are also “18 agreements” in the mining area, although she also did not give further details.
Delcy Rodríguez pointed out that oil production this year “had an increase of 8%”, after in January having registered a fall due to the “block” of the United States, but did not detail the current value of this indicator. However, according to the latest official figures, it exceeds 1.2 million barrels a day.
“ The impact of oil production will see from next year ", said.
In this sense, the Venezuelan head of state announced that she asked her economic team “from next year” to put in place a plan for wages to be above the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) “so that workers will feel the benefits that all these agreements will bring”.
According to Rodríguez, who quoted Cepal, Venezuela will lead growth in Latin America and the Caribbean for the third consecutive year. He pointed out that the third quarter, after the earthquakes of June 24, points to a growth of 6.5%, in addition to ensuring that this improvement is translating into a reduction in inflation and the exchange rate gap between the official dollar and the parallel that in January exceeded 60% and is now 11.7%.
