Ngroup A4, Portugal, with the new selection Jorge Jesus, won Wales (1-0), at José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, and triumphed in visits to Norway (2-1), Oslo, and Denmark (4-2) in Copenhagen.

Today, on their return to Portugal, the Portuguese team surpassed Norway by 2-1 at the Dragon Stadium in Porto, and already secured the clearance for the final quarter of the competition, with a full of four wins.

In the edition 2024/25, which Portugal conquered, the formation of the 'quinas' won Croatia (2-1) and Scotland (2-1), at home, and on the visit to Poland (3-1), before stalling in the fourth round in the visit to the Scots.

Portugal, guided by the Spanish Roberto Martínez, eventually won the group, passed Denmark in the quarterfinals, in two hands, the first time this phase was played in the competition, and beat Germany (2-1) in the semifinals, then winning Spain (2-2, 5-3 gp) in the finals, in the tie by penaltis.

In the first edition of the race, in 2018/19, also conquered by the Portuguese formation, Portugal, with Fernando Santos at the helm, won at the reception to Italy (1-0), went to win Poland 3-2 and tied the visit to the ‘squadra azzurra’ (0-0), in a group with only three selections.

The Portuguese formation passed directly to the semi-finals, beating Switzerland (3-1), and then the Netherlands (1-0), in the final.

In the following edition, from 2020/21, Portugal won the first two games, with Croatia (4-1) and Sweden (2-0), before stalling in the visit to France (0-0), which ended up winning the group and moving on, winning the trophy.

In 2022/23, Portugal entered the race with a draw (1-1) against the Spanish formation, which ended up winning the group and settling for the final-four, snatching the trophy.

Portugal is leader of the group, with 12 points, and has already secured one of the two openings that give access to the quarter finals, followed by Denmark, which today won Wales (1-0), with six, while Welsh and Norwegians have three.

The Portuguese formation will also face Denmark, in Braga, on 14 November, and closes the group phase with the visit to Wales, on 17 of the same month, with the aim of securing the first place in the group.
