A portuguese women's selection of futsal qualified today for the European of 2027, by winning Finland by 3-0, in Oliveira de Azeméis, on the last day of Group 1 of the Elite Round.

In the Pavilion Dr. Salvador Machado, the formation guided by Luís Conceição, to which it was enough to tie to ensure the first place, completed the full of victories, after the triumphs over the Netherlands (2-0) and the Czech Republic (5-0).

Portugal took control from the start and threatened to inaugurate the marker at seven minutes, in a shot to the beam. The advantage arose the next minute, with Ana Oliveira scoring after Helena Nunes' assistance.

Portuguese superiority was translated back into the marker at 15 minutes, when Mariana Marques expanded to 2-0, a result with which the two selections reached the interval.

In the second part, Finland raised the level and forced the Portuguese goalkeeper to stand out, but the team of ‘quinas’ managed to control the opposing reaction and preserve the advantage.

In the final minutes, the Nordic team bet on the advanced goalkeeper to try to reduce the difference. Portugal took this option to close the result, with Ana Catarina, the Portuguese goalkeeper, scoring the third goal at the last minute, with a goal shot.

The Portuguese team, third in the 2023 European and finalist in 2019 and 2022, ended the Elite Round with 10 goals scored, none suffered, ensuring the fourth consecutive participation in the final phase of the competition, always won by Spain.

The European of 2027 is held in Osijek, Croatia, from 14 to 21 March, with eight selections for the first time.
