In August, prices in industrial production rose by 8.2% in the euro area and 8.0% in the European Union (EU), compared to the same month, driven by energy, today the European statistical service, Eurostat, is being released.

Jin comparison with July, the indicator grew by 1.9% in both the euro area and the EU.
In sectorial terms, energy production prices were the highest: 21% in the euro area and 20.7% in the EU compared to August 2025 and, in view of July, rose by 5.6% and 5.5% respectively.
In the annual variation, the highest increases among Member States were presented by Ireland (17.1%), Bulgaria (16.8%) and Lithuania (14.6%), with Luxembourg taking the only decline from August 2025.
Compared with July, the indicator has advanced in all Member States, with the most important growths from July to be recorded in Bulgaria, Estonia (3.3%), Italy (3.1%) and Denmark (3.0 %).
In Portugal, prices in industrial production advanced in August 6.8% against the same month and 1.1% against July.
