Trouble gets bigger. Marco Silva accounts for life for Benfica-Victory

Alexander Bah, Enzo Barrenechea, Georgiy Sudakov, Jakub Kaminski and Jaden Umeh are injured and in doubt for the game of the eighth journey of the I League, between Benfica and Victory SC. Clément Lenglet doesn't count either, due to punishment.

O Benfica went on countdown for the return to action, after the pause for international commitments, in the one of the most awaited meetings of the eighth day of the I Liga, in which will have ahead the Vitória SC, from 18h00 (hour of Continental Portugal) next Sunday, in the Stadium of Luz... and the scenario begins to be worrying for Marco Silva.

This is because the one that was a desired competitive interruption, to recharge batteries and prepare the complicated cycle that is coming, ended up serving to accumulate problems, which will force the successor of José Mourinho to move the initial eleven regarding the one that, just over two weeks ago, was defeated from the trip to the Dragon Stadium, before FC Porto, by 3-1.

In fact, the first ‘headache’ even came from the Classic, precisely because of the expulsion of Clément Lenglet (who saw two yellow cards in the space of only ten minutes, the second of which to reach André Silva with his hand on the head), which will thus fulfill punishment, in the traditionally complicated clash with the formation of vimaranense. But there's more.

Two days later, Enzo Barrenechea was submitted to a surgical intervention with the aim of deleting a meniscus rupture, caused by ume sprain on the knee (contracted during a training), which, possibly, will only allow you to return to the lawns after the next stop for selections, in mid-november, that is, appreciably when Jaden Umeh is recovered from severe muscle injury suffered in the preseason.

Three bad news followed 'in a hurry'. First, Denmark dismissed Alexander Bah (who suffered a relapse in trauma to the right shoulder, which goes back to the victory achieved in the visit to the Maritime, 0-3, on 5 September), and then Poland did the same Jakub Kaminski (which contracted a muscle injury, even in the first part of the null against Bosnia and Herzegovina).

The most recent one originated Ukraine, which freed Georgiy Sudakov, who came out ill-treated from the heavy defeat suffered in front of Northern Ireland at Stamford Bridge by 0-3, after being subjected to a harsh entry by Ciaron Brown on his right foot, so he was given directions to return to Lisbon in order to be reassessed by the embodied clinical department.

Who benefits from ‘reason’ in Benfica?

Faced with this scenario, some of the less-used players from the Benfica squad are on the lookout for a new opportunity to show themselves to Marco Silva. It is the case that Daniel Banjaqui, which, given the potential absence of Alexander Bah, presents itself as the only ‘rooted’ solution to the right side of the defense, and can continue the use that was being targeted before the competitive break.

At the center of the defense, without Clément Lenglet, Alessandro Circati he will double again with Tomás Araújo, in the image of what happened on 16 September at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, with very positive results, given the triumph won over AC Milan (team guided by Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim), in the inaugural day of the league phase of the Europa League, for 0-2.

In the midfield, João Palhinha owns position number 6, but with the operation of Enzo Barrenechea, Manu Silva may be ‘promoted’ to the status of main alternative. Georgiy Sudakov was already ‘losing gas’, but this setback gives even more force to the possibility of Andreas Schjelderup come to claim as unquestionable holder, alongside Rafa Silva and Gianluca Prestianni.

The physical problems of Jakub Kaminski and Jaden Umeh will also lead to an extension of the spectrum of ‘B plans’ to the attack wings. In this plan, they appear as candidates to take advantage of the vacancies Dodi Lukebakio (which you've seen, in the service of Belgium's top selection in recent weeks) and Claudio Echeverri (who stayed in Seixal, to be worked by Marco Silva, and even scored in the victory over Estoril, by 3-1).
