Nthe Dragon, in the triumph over Norway (2-1), which secured the passage of the national selection to the quarter finals, Cancelo saw the second yellow card of the qualifying phase and was automatically prevented from acting in Braga on 14 November, and could then return three days later in Cardiff, in front of Wales, at the closing of the grouping.
Francisco Conceição, who was expelled before the Scandinavians, is also right low for the meeting in Minho, but his absence may be greater.
The extreme ended up expelled with two yellow cards in a row, by words to the referee, and, already on the way to the locker rooms, he still ‘picked up’ with the fourth referee and had to be removed by the ‘staff’ of the national team.
This may result in a suspension of more than one game, a scenario that ends with the participation of Conceição in the qualification phase of the edition Liga das Nações 2026/27, proof in which Portugal holds the title.
The Portuguese team leads Group A4 with 12 points, followed by Denmark, with six, and Norway and Wales, both with three.
