U24-year-old prisoner assaulted a doctor at the Jewish Valley Prison Institution in Alcoentre, in Azambuja, on the afternoon of Friday, after, during a consultation, he was refused medication.

The young man, who is serving an 11-year sentence for theft, kidnapping and possession of a prohibited weapon, will have two punches in the face of the healthcare professional who had to receive assistance, according to the News to Minutes Frederico Morais of the National Union of the Prison Guard Corps (SNCGP).

According to the leader the union, the “situation is even more serious”, because the Jewish Valley chain “is on strike and is in minimal services”.

“ Therefore, in normal terms, the prisoner would not have access to the doctor, unless it was an emergency situation, which is what is stipulated in the minimum services, which would have avoided aggression ", he considered.

The prisoner was now transferred to the disciplinary sector, having been isolated from the rest of the prison population, and Frederico Morais also says he hopes that “that he will be transferred to security sections or to the Monsanto chain.”.

As a result of the aggressions, internal disciplinary proceedings and criminal proceedings are under way against the young man.
