Sara Moniz made a post on his Instagram page earlier this week revealing that he suffers from a “rare disease”.

“Learning to see differently”, it was with these words that the publication began, where it explains the disease with which it has lived.

“ Sometimes life takes you to places you don't choose. I live with a rare retina disease that has altered the way I see it in my daily life. It has been three years since I was diagnosed and last week I was told that it is getting worse and that now it is also affecting my other eye”, he explained.

“ I do not know what will happen next, and this uncertainty can be frightening, since there is neither a proven cure nor a standard therapy for this specific disease ", revealed later.

“ I wasn't sure if I should share something so personal here, but what keeps me using this platform is its essence: it's kind of a visual diary. So yes, I will use it as a way to record my progress and also because maybe someone is going through something similar and needs to know that he is not alone,” he said, revealing then that he suffers from AZOOR (Acute Zone Occult Outer Retinopathy), which is the “eye disease” of which he speaks to his followers.

Remember that Sara Moniz brought Matilde to life in the first season of the success series “Sugar Morangos”. The actress is the sister of Lúcia Moniz, daughter of Carlos Alberto Moniz.
