Did you get support or subsidies that you had no right to? This is what happens
Unwarranted payments are amounts paid by Social Security to persons receiving grants, support or benefits but who were not entitled to receive this amount. What's going on? Social Security informs the person through a Replacement Note – that is, a letter with that indication.
In a practical guide on the subject, Social Security explains that the value to be returned corresponds to the value indicated in the Replacement Note.
This can be paid as follows:
- at once;
- in monthly instalments;
- deducted from other allowances, support or benefits to which the person is entitled.
If none of these forms is used, Social Security initiates a process to collect the value by tax (tax execution).
How can you return it? According to Social Security, by the following means:
- atm reference;
- bank transfer;
- MBWay up to the limit of € 10,000;
- a cheque targeted, banker or issued by the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency (IGCP, IP);
Postal Valley, sent to the District Center of the place where you live, indicating on its back the Social Security Identification number (NISS) and the number of the Reposition Note; - In a Social Security treasury, carrying with it the notification received from Social Security: the one with an ATM card in cash, up to 150.00€ the one in cheque targeted, bank or issued by the Treasury Management Agency and the Public Debt (IGCP, IP).
Warning: “If there is a payment plan for benefits, Social Security sends an ATM reference every month, with the deadline to pay”.
