A approval by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, fell to a new minimum, two weeks from the mid-term elections, according to a new poll by Ipsos, The Washington Post and ABC News.

The sample reflects the worst level of support among North American adults: only 33% of respondents approve Trump's management, against 66% who disapprove of it and 52% express a strong disapproval.

The increase in the cost of living and the decision to go to war against Iran, which affected the price of fuel, are the most pointed factors against the President and leader of the Republican Party that in the elections of November 3, disputes the control of the two chambers of Congress (Chamber of Representatives and Senate).

The current approval index is four percentage points lower than last July and 12 points lower than in February 2025, when its approval was 45%.

This is a level below any other time of his first term (2017-2021), the Washington Post highlighted.

In the United States, traditionally, the President's level of approval has been one of the main indicators to anticipate the results of the mid-term elections.

Several Republican congressmen are having problems in their districts, rather conservative bastions.

The Democrats gained ground, with the majority of voters interviewed in the poll supporting the Democratic candidate over the Republican in the Congressional elections, with 52% against 44%.

This same difference, of eight points, is observed in the set of registered voters – 50% against 42% –, which represents gains for Democrats in relation to the July survey, when the difference between Democrats and Republicans was only three points.
