O Sporting de Braga today demanded “immediate measures to guarantee arbitration the minimum conditions and the safeguarding of competitions”, in a letter sent to the Portuguese Football Federation (PFF).
In the letter signed by President António Salvador, the Brazilians contest the arbitration of their game on the eighth day of the I Liga, which lost before Sporting (3-1), on Friday, but also the stance of the president of the Arbitration Council (CA) of FPF, Luciano Gonçalves, as well as the agitation and instability in the sector.
“ It is undeniable the impact of these episodes, almost all of them side to the frame of referees and video-arbitrators, but with direct effect on the work that manifests itself in the lawns and VAR rooms. The service provided to football, it has to be admitted, worsened ", ensure the worms.
António Salvador lamented that the break in selections did not help to pacify the arbitration sector, claiming that the non-marking of a great penalty, in front of the ‘lions’, “adulted the poster game of the day.”.
The Brazilians take advantage of the coincidence of this occurrence with the presence of Luciano Gonçalves in a television program to criticize the leader.
“What the president of CA yesterday [on Friday] conveyed to his board and to football in general, minutes after a game of great importance, is that he is not leading the sector that he drives and is not in a position to fulfill his function”, can be read in that letter.
This is, according to the president of the minhotes, “is the ultimate warning” so that the “gravity of the created context and the contagion effect it has on the sector, its stability and the quality of the decisions taken at stake, as well as its analysis and learning”.
